IDB urges action on climate resilience

Climate Resilience in Caribbean Agriculture and Fisheries

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is urging Caribbean nations to adopt a systemic approach towards building climate-resilient agriculture and fisheries. Agriculture and Rural Senior Specialist at the IDB, Anna Tonnes, emphasized the need for clear strategies to identify barriers to investment and create conducive environments for resilient food systems. With a robust appetite for investment, the IDB is pushing for increased collaboration among governments, investors, and development partners to foster sustainable agriculture practices that can withstand the impacts of climate change. This initiative underscores the importance of investing in climate-smart solutions to safeguard food security and support the livelihoods of communities in the region.
